Voting on Agreement in Principle: What Happens If Rejected?

In an interview on CTV News Montreal, our Head of the Labour and Employment Law group, Nancy Boyle, spoke with journalist Rob Lurie about the agreement in principle’s vote of tomorrow. 

If the agreement is rejected, the unions will likely end up back to the bargaining table to get a better deal. According to Nancy Boyle, it is unlikely they would get better considering the favorable terms they won compared to those in the private sector.

“Since it’s been accepted in principle by the executives, it puts them in a difficult position to negotiate,” says Nancy Boyle.
