Humania Assurance Acquires All the Assets of Tour+Med
Humania Assurance, a mutual insurance company, announced on August 13, 2019, its acquisition of all the assets surrounding Tour+Med, a major player in the Canadian short- and long-term travel insurance industry.
Working together for more than 10 years, the transaction between Humania Assurance and Tour+Med was a natural fit for both companies, who shared a common vision of growing and improving their service offering and product range.
BCF represented the acquirer, 9400-4256 Québec Inc. a subsidiary of Humania Assurance Inc. in the acquisition of all the assets of Multi+Med Inc., a Quebec company involved in the management and development of travel insurance markets, and Tour+Med Assistance, Inc. an American company based in Florida that provides assistance services to insured persons abroad.
The team was led by Mireille Fontaine and included Sabrina Brosseau-Malo, Rosanne Giguère (mergers and acquisitions and commercial), Eleonora Eusepi (real estate and banking), Paule Tardif (banking), Laurent Roy (real estate), Marc-André Godard (taxation), Nancy Boyle and Kevin Vincelette (employment law) and the assistance of Emilia Stoute (paralegal).
