Shaun E. Finn, Nationwide Dispute Resolution: Class Action Defence (Band 5)

Co-Head of BCF’s Class Action Defense Group, Shaun E. Finn is newly ranked for his nationwide expertise in class action defence in Chambers directory. In his class action work, Shaun represented corporate and institutional defendants in product liability, group claims, consumer protection, privacy and securities, among others. Shaun has been cited by various courts, including the Supreme Court of Canada, the Québec Court of Appeal, the Nova Scotia Court of Appeal and the Québec Superior Court.

Jean Piette is once again named Senior Statespeople for Canadian environmental law. Described as the “dean of environmental law in Québec,” Jean has an exceptional career spanning nearly 20 years in the public sector and 28 years in the private sector. He is recognized for his role in the establishment of numerous environmental regulations and policies in the province and maintains an active practice acting on behalf of a number of leading clients.

 

André Ryan, Nationwide Dispute Resolution: Class Action Defence (Band 5) and Litigation: General Commercial in Québec (Band 4)

This year, André Ryan is not only recognized by Chambers for his expertise in commercial litigation in Québec, but he is newly classified in class actions defence nationally. André is a partner in BCF’s Litigation and Governance groups. He is a commercial lawyer and now provides strategic advice on commercial litigation, corporate governance, media relations, crisis management and contract negotiations and partnerships at home and abroad. Trained as a litigation lawyer, André has developed a unique expertise in representing parties before boards of inquiry, defending class actions and in shareholder disputes.
