Gender Wage Gap: Where Are We Today?

In an interview with CTV News Montreal, our Head of the Labour and Employment group Nancy Boyle discusses the gender wage gap in Québec.

According to data released by the Institut de la statistique du Québec on November 21, 2022, the average hourly wage of Québec women was 91% of that of their male colleagues in 2021.

“You see a constant progression since 1998 but we’re not quite there yet, as the report says basically,” explained Nancy Boyle during the interview. “Women in professional management roles have increased by 12%, but there’s still sectors where we’re lying behind, notably in higher positions. It’s been a long battle and it’s very important that women encourage other women.”
