Vaccine Passport in Stores: What About Employers’ Management Rights?
The Journal de Montréal interviewed our partner Geneviève Beaudin about labour law issues related to the vaccine passport that will be required in superstores.
As of January 24, customers will have to provide a vaccine passport in superstores. However, the same requirements do not apply to employees. Given the situation, how can employers ensure the health and safety of their employees?
Our labour and employment law partner points out that companies wear two hats. “One where they are bound by decrees regarding the vaccine passport, and the other where they must reasonably manage their business,” she says. This means ensuring the health and safety of employees, while also taking into account their rights and freedoms.
