Sportscene Group Becomes Grandio Group and Expands its Brand Portfolio

Sportscene Group, which has been in the restaurant business in Québec since 1984, recently became Grandio, a group of Québec restaurateurs whose mission is to create good times.

The Grandio Group includes La Cage – Brasserie sportive, Chez Lionel – Brasserie française, IRU Izakaya - Japanese Brasserie, Cochon Dingue, Lapin Sauté, Ciel!, Paris Grill, Café du Monde, JaJa, Madame Chose, Crémy Pâtisserie and Moishes, each brand continuing to operate independently.

In addition to sharing best practices in local supply, recruitment and operational excellence, this alliance of brands known and loved by Quebecers encourages natural synergies, allows the exchange of best practices and the establishment of a financial structure that will support their expansion in Québec and, for some, even outside Québec.

Grandio Group is headed by Jean Bédard, President and CEO. Along with him, Pierre Simard, President of Champlain Financial Corporation, Pierre Moreau, President and CEO of Le Groupe Restos Plaisirs and Stéphane Riopel, President of Le Groupe Bistronomie have also joined Grandio. Grandio Group will have more than 3,800 employees working in more than 55 restaurants under a dozen banners. Several of these banners also have a strong presence in grocery stores, particularly in retail products offered in ready-to-eat format. In addition to these activities, there is also a component of event catering, food truck and cooking boxes.
