Pride Month: Let’s Create an Inclusive Future

Diversity is an endless source of wealth that must be protected, celebrated and promoted. It is a source of inspiration, enrichment and challenge that drives us to do better every day. By working together, each of us can make it more visible in our society.

At BCF, we stand behind the LGBTQ+ communities all year long. We strive to make our workplace an inclusive space where everyone feels supported and respected.

Our Diversity and Inclusion Club, with more than fifty members, has been working to implement more initiatives that promote inclusion within the firm. Its main missions are:

• Help define BCF’s social mission for diversity and inclusion;
• Organize targeted initiatives and activities, including awareness-raising training and workshops as well as various in-house activities (cultural, social and sports) that take into account everybody’s interests and reality.

I wish our children no longer had to live with these social issues. I wish for them that diversity becomes the norm and that it is celebrated, not hoped for.

We want to work together towards a leadership that will promote communication, humility, collaboration, mentoring, knowledge sharing and above all inclusion.

Pride Month is not only a celebration dedicated to the LGBTQ+ communities, but also a commemoration of the Stonewall riots in New York City, which debuted June 28, 1969. A year after those events, thousands of protesters took to the streets of New York City (and other major US cities) for what many consider to be the first pride marches.

For more than 50 years, the month of June has been a reminder of how important it is to raise awareness of the societal issues facing this community, even today. Recognizing and celebrating the LGBTQ+ community’s contributions is crucial, as is being an ally.
