Supermetal Powers Canam Bridges Canada
Supermetal is a company specialized in the manufacturing and installation of structural steel with factories in Québec and Alberta as well as an engineering and design office in the Philippines. It was recently acquired by one of Canam Group’s division. Over the past few years, Supermetal has been involved in projects such as airports, stadiums, factories, bridges, power plants and several building projects in North America.
This transaction will allow Canam Bridges Canada to increase its production capacity as well as its product supply. For over 50 years, these two companies have maintained a relationship as partners rather than as competitors. The expertise of Supermetal’s 550 employees will allow Canam Bridges Canada to be a larger and better equipped organization to compete in an increasingly complex structural steel market where clients are more imposing and sophisticated.
BCF is grateful for Supermetal’s trust and is proud to have acted on its behalf in this transaction with a team consisting of Jules Turcotte (corporate reorganization and acquisition), Charles-Antoine Dorion, Maude Papillon (acquisition), Marc-André Godard, Alexandra Licha (taxation), Richard Epstein, Geneviève Martin (competition), Mélissa Picher, Chantale Simard and Martine Fortin (corporate reorganization).
