With more than 10 years of experience working for a number of major accounting firms, Mehrez Houacine specialises in the tax aspects of mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganisation, business transfers, and key-employee stock incentive plans. Known for his rigour, technical abilities and listening skills, Mehrez helps SMEs and their leaders by offering tax solutions that are tailored to their needs.
Over the years, Mehrez has developed sound business relationships with his clientele in a wide range of activity sectors.
Mehrez is also involved in the tax community. More specifically, he is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation and of the Association de planification financière et fiscale (APFF), where he participates by publishing articles and giving lectures.

- Acted on behalf of Groupe Champagne, a door and window sales and installation company, in its acquisition of the assets of A&D Prévost, a company specializing in architectural aluminum systems, in the context of an investment solicitation and sale process implemented by Restructuration Deloitte Inc. following the filing of a notice of intention by A&D Prévost, under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act;
- Acted on behalf of Sandibe Global B.V., a Dutch company specialized in the leisure industry, and more specifically in global-scale tourist attractions, in the context of the sale of all of the shares of Les Holdings La Grande Roue de Montréal Inc., which owns and operates the Montreal ferris wheel, an iconic site in the Old Port of Montreal;
- Acted on behalf Novolecs in the acquisition of the assets of Stace, a factory specializes in the design and manufacture of low and medium voltage auxiliary equipment, serving a large local and international customer base;
- Acted on behalf of Epsilyte Holdings LLC, a leading provider of advanced materials, in its acquisition of StyroChem Canada, Ltd.;
- Acted on behalf of PayFacto Payments Inc. in the equity investment of up to C$150 million led by private equity firm Flexpoint Ford with participation from BMO Capital Partners;
- Sale of a pharmaceutical company to a European group;
- Corporate reorganisation to ensure group shareholders that all assets would be protected;
- Transfer of a manufacturing company to key employees;
- Implementation of a financing structure for an IT company;
- Implementation of an international structure for a company in the entertainment industry;
Acquisition of a company in the automotive parts distribution sector.
