Quebec City Tramway Project: What Are the Rights of the Expropriated?
Quebec City Tramway Project: What Are the Rights of the Expropriated?
In an interview on Radio-Canada's program C'est encore mieux l'après-midi, Partner and Lawyer Isabelle Landry spoke about the expropriation process and the rights of the owners affected by the tramway route.
"In an expropriation, it is not only the market value that is paid. There is a real estate compensation that can be slightly higher than the market value, since we are not in a context where a seller wants to sell and a buyer wants to buy. We are talking of a forced acquisition. I therefore recommend that property owners be well informed about what they are entitled to"says the partner and lawyer.
