Profile
Julie Dorion is a partner on our litigation team. She handles major civil, commercial, administrative and constitutional litigations. She represents a diverse clientele before the Québec courts of common law and arbitration tribunals.
Together with several members of our team, she successfully led and tried the first case dealing with the Petroleum Resources Act. In the context of the Act ending the exploration for petroleum and underground reservoirs and the production of petroleum and brine, Ms. Dorion represents various players in this complex industry before the Québec Superior Court and Court of Appeal, cases that involve important constitutional issues.
She has acted in several major construction litigation matters involving complex technical issues and in major shareholder disputes including injunctions, seizures and other urgent and extraordinary remedies.
Over the years, her proficiency has led her to work in various related fields, such as bankruptcy. For the past 10 years, she has acted on behalf of RCGT as provisional administrator of the new home warranty plans in charge of carrying on operations, including recovery under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act or under any similar legislation.
Julie is also involved in her community. She has been featured by the Junior Chamber of Commerce as an “Inspiring Woman” as part of its project in collaboration with Desjardins to showcase 31 women who stand out for their “extraordinary achievements, involvement or inspiration.”
