What are the risks of holding cryptocurrency funds on a platform such as QuadrigaCX?

Interviewed by La Presse, TVA Nouvelles and Cogeco 98.5FM on February 5, 2019, our lawyer Martin Nolet discussed the security and regulatory issues related to cryptocurrencies in the QuadrigaCX case.

Hat trick for our lawyer this week. A specialist in cryptocurrency taxation, Martin Nolet was invited by Bernard Drainville, Mario Dumont and journalist Tristan Péloquin to give his point of view and explain the legal and regulatory nuances specific to the risks of holding cryptocurrency deposits on platforms such as QuadrigaCX.

It is not a blockchain failure, because that is what it is supposed to do. We now have to ask ourselves how, as an industry, can we put in place governance mechanisms to avoid this kind of situation.

Martin Nolet, Lawyer
