Profile
Odette Nadon is counsel in BCF’s Environmental Law group. She takes part in the follow-ups of litigation and transactional cases. She provides legal advice related to the development of environmental risk management strategies, the planning and execution of compliance issues and environmental litigation. She also supervises BCF's training and publications on various issues related to the environment.
Odette works closely with other sectors of the firm in reviewing all environmental aspects of various transactions, including wetlands, the transfer of certificates of authorization, the dismantlement of industrial and petroleum product facilities and the redevelopment of contaminated sites.
Her legal and scientific background, in addition to her extensive experience in the field, makes Odette a benchmark in environmental law. Odette has been involved in the organization of emergency teams and the implementation of measures to prevent ecological disasters.

Involvement
- teaches a course on the environment to the graduate students of the Faculty of Medicine of the Université de Montréal;
- presented factums to a Parliamentary Commission to explain the position of industrial sectors regarding various proposed laws and regulations;
- advised government authorities on the implementation of the Mining Code for the Democratic Republic of Congo in 2004; and
- advised government authorities on the revision of the Environment Quality Act in 2005-2006 as she headed a team of legal experts appointed by the Minister of Sustainable Development, Environment and Parks.
