A New Partner in Our Data Privacy and Protection Team

We are pleased to announce that Aya Barbach has joined BCF as a Partner in our Data Privacy and Protection Group at our Montreal office. 

With extensive experience in Canada, Aya advises and represents clients from the private and public sectors on all data-related issues: protection of personal information and privacy, anti-spam legislation, cybersecurity, access to information legislation, risk management and compliance, and privacy by design. Aya also pleads in courts, including administrative tribunals such as Quebec’s Commission d’accès à l’information. 

Aya joins our team at a time when new laws and regulations are increasing the obligations and responsibilities that companies have regarding data protection. She will therefore be a valuable ally for our clients and our practice group. 

With an international background, Aya studied law in Quebec and France. Before joining BCF, she practiced at a national firm. She frequently contributes to major discussions and reflections on all issues related to confidentiality and privacy, both through writing articles for the general public and by submitting proposals to regulators, including the Commission d’accès à l’information and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
