Céline Tremblay is joining BCF’s intellectual property team!September 4th, 2018
Montréal, Tuesday September 4, 2018 – BCF Business Law is proud to announce that Ms. Céline Tremblay, former member of the Trademarks Opposition Board at the Canadian Intellectual Property Office, is joining its team as Consulting Trademark Agent.
Regarded as one of the most well-known trademark agents in the country, Céline Tremblay has acquired nearly 35 years of experience in the intellectual property field. In addition to having worked for large private firms, she joined the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO) – principal responsible for the administration and processing of intellectual property applications in Canada – in 2004, where she worked as a member of the Trademarks Opposition Board (TMOB) for nearly 14 years. Her leadership and thorough understanding of the issues led her to hold the position of Acting Chairperson of the TMOB twice, during which time she sat on Executive Committee of the CIPO. Céline Tremblay was also a member of the Trademark Examination Board from 2009 to 2011 and from 1990 to 1992.

Before joining the CIPO, Céline Tremblay was, amongst others, a member of the board of directors of FORPIQ (the International Intellectual Property Forum – Quebec) for three years, a member of the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada and has served a first term as a member of the Trademark Examination Board in addition to being invited to speak on trademarks in Canada.
