La Compagnie des Montagnes de Ski du Québec inc. Acquires the Mont Lac-Vert Tourism Resort
In efforts to support its 2024-2028 tourism-development plan for the Mont Lac-Vert ski resort and outlying area, the municipality of Hébertville recently entrusted management of the recreation and tourism centre’s operations to La Compagnie des Montagnes de Ski du Québec inc. through an emphyteutic (long-term) lease.
La Compagnie des Montagnes de Ski du Québec is a member of the Franco-Swiss group E-Liberty, which has been specializing in online ski-pass sales for more than 17 years. It has been digitizing and boosting this sector, in which it has achieved European leadership.
This second acquisition in Québec is consistent with the company’s objective of turning its resorts into regional economic-development drivers by offering a four-season recreational and tourism offering in partnership with the local community and stakeholders.
“Our goal is to create a unified tourist destination in eastern Québec and give it the critical mass it needs to achieve continental and even worldwide visibility,” states Christian Mars, President, La Compagnie des Montagnes de Ski du Québec.
BCF is proud to have acted on behalf of La Compagnie des Montagnes de Ski du Québec in this transaction through its team consisting of Serge LeBel (business law), Alex Harvey (business law), Pierre Pratte (transactional real estate law), Simon-Pierre Hébert and Nathalie Gonthier (labour and employment law), Mathieu Gendron (taxation), Johanne Auger (intellectual property), Isabelle Landry and Charlotte Fortin (municipal and environmental law), and Martine Fortin and Cynthia Lessard-Demers (corporate paralegals).
