Learning Through Practice

Moot Court, Transaction Simulation and More
Moot Court, Transaction Simulation and More
At BCF, we go beyond theory. Three initiatives give you the opportunity to put your knowledge into practice in settings that reflect the realities of legal practice, with guidance from experienced professionals.
- Moot Court. This one-day trial simulation takes you through every stage of litigation, from reviewing the file and preparing exhibits to developing strategy, preparing court materials and presenting oral arguments.
- Transaction Simulation. This intensive simulation gives you hands-on experience with a business transaction, including due diligence, drafting key provisions, developing negotiation strategies, managing the parties’ competing priorities and completing the final signing.
- Artificial Intelligence Negotiation Workshop. (More information to come.)

At BCF, You’re Never on Your Own.

Guidance That Helps You Grow
Guidance That Helps You Grow
To support their integration and development, students are paired with a buddy, a young professional who helps them settle in and answers their questions throughout the summer. Articling students, in turn, are paired with an articling supervisor, as well as an articling program lead.
This support continues once articling students become lawyers, helping them further their professional development. They are then paired with a manager-coach who actively supports their growth, helps them achieve their goals and guides them as they develop their practice throughout their career at the firm.
On a voluntary basis, all our professionals also have access to the firm’s internal mentorship program, designed to support their professional development, expand their internal network and give them access to advice and a wide range of perspectives and experiences from across the firm.
The Student and Articling Student Committee, made up of lawyers committed to supporting the next generation, helps ensure a rewarding experience through training, feedback, activities and ongoing support.
