Law Student Employment: BCF’s Summer Program

BCF’s Summer Program

A law student position at BCF gives you your first hands-on experience in business law. You’ll have the opportunity to explore our different practice areas and build meaningful relationships with members of our team.

What You’ll Do During the Summer

From your first few weeks, you’ll work on a variety of assignments, including:

  • conducting legal research and drafting analyses and memoranda;
  • preparing transactional documents and legal proceedings;
  • participating in client meetings and file-related discussions;
  • taking part in the mock trial, mock transaction and contractual negotiation workshop
  • focused on artificial intelligence.

Assignments are not allocated by one person or a committee. You are free to choose the practice areas you want to explore and the professionals you want to work with.

This approach encourages initiative and independence. We encourage you to knock on doors, build your internal network and seize the opportunities that interest you. This allows you to gain a wide range of experiences, explore different practice areas and better identify your professional interests.

By creating your own learning opportunities, you develop not only your legal skills, but also your confidence, curiosity and ability to build lasting relationships across the firm. This freedom allows you to shape a path that reflects who you are and fully explore the many opportunities BCF has to offer.

Moot Court, Transaction Simulation and More

At BCF, we go beyond theory. Three initiatives give you the opportunity to put your knowledge into practice in settings that reflect the realities of legal practice, with guidance from experienced professionals.

  • Moot Court. This one-day trial simulation takes you through every stage of litigation, from reviewing the file and preparing exhibits to developing strategy, preparing court materials and presenting oral arguments.
  • Transaction Simulation. This intensive simulation gives you hands-on experience with a business transaction, including due diligence, drafting key provisions, developing negotiation strategies, managing the parties’ competing priorities and completing the final signing.
  • Artificial Intelligence Negotiation Workshop. (More information to come.)
