Stéphanie La Rocque Appointed to the Court of Québec

Montréal, February 2, 2024 – BCF proudly applauds the appointment of Stéphanie La Rocque as a judge of the Court of Québec, for the Civil Division of Montréal. This is the second time in less than a year that a BCF partner has been appointed to Québec's judiciary.

Since 2020, Stéphanie La Rocque has been a partner and civil and banking litigation lawyer at BCF’s Montréal office. Her practice included managing highly sensitive cases involving commercial fraud, bankruptcy and insolvency, injunctions, and the enforcement of guarantees.

“This well-deserved appointment is simply the next logical step in Stéphanie’s impressive career. In the years she spent among us, she made an indelible impression on everyone. We have no doubt that she will excel in her new and important role,” stated BCF Managing Partner Julie Doré.

Stéphanie La Rocque has, since the start of her career, earned recognition as a rising star in the legal profession. Her active involvement in the legal community has included teaching civil procedure and/or evidence for 10 years at École du Barreau du Québec. Not only is she one of only four lawyers in private practice in Québec to have obtained certification as a Certified Fraud Examiner, she is also an arbitrator in civil and commercial law, a designation accredited by Barreau du Québec.
