BCF Plays a Major Role in The Acquisition of a Québec Cannabis Producer by Emerald Health Therapeutics

BCF is proud to have represented Emerald Health Therapeutics (Emerald) in its acquisition of Agro-Biotech, a Québec-based cannabis producer.

This transaction will enable Emerald to produce unique, high-quality cannabis at very low cost and will allow it to be highly responsive to customers in Québec’s province and beyond.

Agro-Biotech is one of only six cannabis licensed producers in Québec. Its assets include 75,000 sq. ft. purpose-built facility whose capacity allows serving high-quality cannabis products in the anticipated legalized adult-use market. This new acquisition further strengthens Emerald’s ability to market throughout eastern Canada and nationwide.

With the anticipated cannabis legalization in Canada, Emerald’s acquisition of Agro-Biotech expands its capacity to meet increased consumers' demands in the second half of 2018.

Emerald has acquired all of the issued and outstanding securities of Agro-Biotech for an aggregate purchase price of $90 million.
