Acquisition and Sale of Real Pr operty
Advising on the purchase or sale of immovable property or rights is the heart of our expertise. Once your goals are established, our group will assist you in choosing the vehicule to hold your property, whether it is in the form of a company, a limited partnership, a general partnership, a trust or a joint venture. Our team will also conduct a due diligence review of title-related matters, negotiate title insurance policies, ensure compliance with municipal by-laws, complete other normal-course verifications, and draft and negotiate preliminary and final agreements relating to your transaction.

We have worked with financial institutions in developing standard loan contracts and in establishing practices relating to the granting of commercial mortgage loans. We regularly assist our clients in negotiating mezzanine debt, lower-ranking debt and other creditor arrangements. We also advise our clients on the enforcement of mortgage security, particulary in the context of bankruptcy and insolvency.

We represent land owners, building managers and tenants in connection with drafting and negotiating complex commercial leases as well as in all aspects of landlord-tenant relationships.
