Our Barbados office has been established in order to provide quality legal and tax services in a timely and efficient manner to clients who are doing business in Barbados.
Our office is comprised of three attorneys-at-law specializing in corporate/commercial, tax, trusts, insurance and intellectual property licensing. They have extensive experience in providing innovative and efficient planning solutions to private clients and corporations.
Over the years, our firm has developed an extensive network in Barbados. We are therefore well-positioned to advise a wide range of clients operating in that country, including banks, accounting firms, service providers, and both small and large businesses looking to establish a Barbadian subsidiary.
Barbados is an attractive jurisdiction for the creation and operation of international sales corporations, Canadian immigration trusts, life insurance companies, captive insurance companies, reinsurance companies, trading companies, group finance companies, corporate holding companies, private bank and trust companies, leasing companies, intellectual property holding.
Barbados has tax treaties with Canada, CARICOM, China, Cuba, U.S., U.K., Finland, Luxembourg, Panama, Sweden, Norway, Mexico, Switzerland, Austria, Malta, Mauritius, Netherlands, Botswana and Venezuela. In addition, there are ongoing treaty negotiations with Italy, Spain, Vietnam, Belgium, Brazil, Chile, Czech Republic, Iceland, Russia and India.
Barbados also has an expanding bilateral investment treaty network (BIT) with a number of countries, such as Botswana, Canada, China, CARICOM, Cuba, Finland, Germany, Italy, Mauritius, Mexico, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the United States of America and Venezuela.
