Bartha Maria Knoppers, PhD, joins BCF

Dr. Bartha Maria Knoppers has extensive experience in the life sciences industry. She holds the Canada Research Chair in Law and Medicine and is director of the Centre of Genomics and Policy at McGill University. Called to the Québec Bar in 1985, she was awarded the title of Governor and Advocatus Emeritus in 2009. She founded the international Public Population Project in Genomics (P3G) and the CARTaGENE Project, a study of the Quebec population. Officer of the Order of Canada, she is a member of the Scientific Steering Committee of the International Cancer Genome Consortium. She has been awarded four honorary doctorates.
