- Mr. Miron has been a guest lecturer at the School of Management of the Université du Québec à Montréal. He taught construction law to students in the Master’s Property Management program.
Representative work
Construction Law
- Mr. Miron successfully represented the Agence Métropolitaine de Transport in many lawsuits involving the design and construction of the metro line to Laval. He is now actively involved in the Train de l’Est project.
- Mr. Miron successfully represented the Société québécoise d’assainissement des eaux in several lawsuits involving contractors’ claims.
- Mr. Miron represented Aéroports de Montréal in connection with the construction of the new international terminal at the Montréal–Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport.
Commercial Litigation
- For the last 18 years, Mr. Miron has represented the largest Rogers dealership in Quebec. In this capacity, he has counseled the dealership in several proceedings involving the Competition Act.
- Mr. Miron successfully defended a national food wholesaler before the Superior Court and the Court of Appeal in a $26 million dollar lawsuit involving the sale of a subsidiary.
Property Valuation / Expropriation
- Mr. Miron has notably represented UPS, Pattison Group, Barrick Gold, Xstrata, and many other multinationals before the Quebec courts and tribunals in matters of property valuation and expropriation.
- Mr. Miron also acted for public bodies as expropriating entities before the courts.
Administrative Law
- Mr. Miron successfully represented Trans Canada Energy Management before the Régie de l’énergie to obtain approval for an electricity supply contract for 547 MW upon which the construction of the Becancour Cogeneration Power Plant depended. It was the first case of its kind in Quebec and several principles were established that are still followed to this day.
- Mr. Miron successfully represented the Pattison Group before the Administrative Tribunal of Quebec and the superior courts involving the first expropriation of a publicity sign. Several principles were established and are still followed.
- Mr. Miron has successfully represented several clients before the Superior Court to control the decisions of various administrative and domestic tribunals in Quebec.
Access to Information
- Mr. Miron successfully represented Aluminerie Alouette to maintain the confidentiality of documents provided to the SDI in connection with the construction of an aluminum smelter. This mandate lasted 10 years and, on several occasions, went before the Court of Appeal.
- Mr. Miron successfully represented a client in obtaining documents filed with a provincial organization as part of the financial assistance granted to Bombardier to develop the CSeries.
- Mr. Miron successfully represented several pharmaceutical companies before the Federal Court to maintain the confidentiality of their trade secrets.
Estate Law and Wealth Management
- Mr. Miron pleaded a landmark case before the Court of Appeal in matters of rendering of accounts.
- Mr.Miron represents many wealthy elders and families involved in litigation concerning the administration of their family patrimony.
Strategic Advice
- Mr. Miron advised the Agence métropolitaine de transport throughout the complex negotiations related to the implementation of an integrated system designed to sell tickets and collect receipts used by 83 municipalities and 14 transport organizations (OPUS card).
- Mr. Miron advised the owners of the Mines de chrysotile de Thetford Mines in the complex and major restructuring of their operations.
International Network
- Mr. Miron and his primary contacts enabled a Canadian multinational to obtain a contract with a mining conglomerate in Brazil.
- His network also enabled a large Canadian company to implement a strategic agreement with a Brazilian government body to cooperate in oil exploration.
- Finally, a French engineering conglomerate sought his services and his network to meet and have discussions with the office of the Prime Minister of India.
