Professional background

Roger Pothier has practiced as a lawyer in mediation, arbitration and litigation before administrative and civil tribunals for the past 40 years. He also acts as a legal counsel. He joined BCF in January 2007, placing his renowned expertise and experience at the service of clients.

From 1967 to 2006, Mr. Pothier built and managed, together with other partners, a firm that he founded and which employed more than 60 lawyers specializing in diverse areas of public and private practice (including civil law, business law, labour relations, construction, financing, municipal administration, schools, health, the environment, urban planning).

Over the course of his career, Mr. Pothier has given several dozen conferences, seminars and talks, has lectured at Université Laval, and taught for several years at the École de formation professionnelle du Barreau du Québec. He is currently involved in several major cases before the Supreme Court, Quebec Superior Court and the Quebec Court of Appeal.
