Professional background

Richard Epstein has a broad range of business law experience acquired, to a great extent, in the context of cross-border transactions. His practice is concentrated in mergers and acquisitions (including competition and foreign investment concerns), joint ventures, strategic alliances and general commercial transactions (including international sale of goods, licensing and distribution agreements).

Mr. Epstein regularly represents clients located in Quebec in their transactions outside of Quebec (most often in the U.S., Ontario and Europe) as well as foreign businesses in their ventures in Quebec.

Mr. Epstein has particular expertise in the sectors of emerging technologies and manufacturing and in the forestry products and manufacturing industries.

Mr. Epstein is co-leader of the Mergers & Acquisitions strategic team at BCF.
