Professional background

Marie-Pier Baril practices business law, with a particular focus on corporate governance rules and shareholder relations.

Ms. Baril has also been involved in several tax and estate planning matters involving the drafting of wills, trust deeds, mandates in the event of incapacity and corporate restructuring documents.

She has also developed a special interest in the issue of business succession and transfers.

A graduate of the Université de Sherbrooke, Ms. Baril received the Barreau du Québec prize and the Dean of the Law Faculty prize for academic excellence and involvement in university life.
