Kendrick Lo specializes in advising companies on intellectual property matters relating to software, with a particular interest in artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies. He is a registered patent agent in the United States and Canada, lawyer, and Certified Specialist in Intellectual Property (Patent) with the Law Society of Ontario.
After having served technology clients for 15 years as a lawyer for a leading intellectual property boutique firm, Kendrick left the practice to update his technical and legal skills. This recent journey included completion of a graduate degree at Harvard University’s School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, where he focused on data science and machine learning. He then engaged in entrepreneurial activities and solo practice before joining the intellectual property team at BCF in 2018.
Kendrick has had extensive experience providing strategic advice and managing international intellectual property portfolios for companies in the telecommunications, electronics, financial services, and gaming sectors, as well as drafting and prosecuting patent and industrial design applications before patent offices in the United States, Canada, Europe, and China.
Kendrick is a Fellow of the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada and former Canadian patent agent examiner. He has also served as an Adjunct Professor at Osgoode Hall Law School where he taught patent law, and as a lecturer for the Department of Computer Science at the University of Toronto.
