Erik Yelemanov handles the drafting and filing of applications for information technology (IT) patents. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Engineering Physics from Montreal’s École Polytechnique. Mr. Yelemanov’s expertise spans a number of areas, including nanotechnology, semiconductors, optics, and IT, with a particular focus on startups. He also provides consulting services in connection with export controls on technology goods from Canada.
Before joining BCF, he worked as scientific advisor on Arrival (2016), a sci-fi film directed by Denis Villeneuve. He also acted as programming consultant on various Quebec productions and did an internship in sales and marketing at Photon etc., a Montreal imaging company. While a student, he also completed a project with the Canadian Space Agency involving the programming of a telescope to monitor a satellite for purposes of establishing an optical communications link. He has been a member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) in the capacity of junior engineer since 2016. He is also a boxing fan, and writes a boxing column for a French-language Website dedicated to that noble art.
