Daniel M. MacKay’s practice focuses on drafting and prosecution of patent applications for mechanical and IT inventions. Prior to joining BCF, Daniel summered and articled at a top-tier Intellectual Property Law Firm in Toronto, Ontario, and operated a small technical writing firm that assisted Registered Canadian and United States Patent Agents in drafting patent applications for mechanical inventions.
Prior to law school, Daniel enjoyed a successful career as a Mechanical Engineer (EIT) and Project Manager in the field of Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVAC&R) systems. Daniel’s Engineering practice included energy modeling, concept designs, and the design of control sequences for various commercial HVAC&R systems.
Daniel is fluent in English and Russian, and has a working knowledge of French.
