Professional background

Daniel Garant joined BCF as a partner in 2007. He specializes in business, commercial and corporate law. He practices mainly in the area of mergers and acquisitions, private or public company financing (debt and equity) and applied intellectual property law for emerging, growing or well-established businesses.

Mr. Garant acts as a business advisor for clients mainly from the field of high technology, in the manufacturing and service sectors.

Since he first started practicing over 25 years ago, Mr. Garant has been extensively involved in many transactions, including structuring, reorganizations, financing from private and public capital sources, strategic alliances, outsourcings, negotiating and documenting the terms of numerous mergers and acquisitions, acting for publicly traded and privately held Canadian and foreign businesses, marketing products and services abroad, and handling general corporate matters.

Mr. Garant is listed in the 2010, the 2011 and the 2012 editions of The Best Lawyers in Canada, in the Technology Law section.
