Bertrand Giroux joined BCF in 1995, and is a partner in the Litigation Group. He is co-leader of the Restructuring and Insolvency strategic team. He is one of the founding members of BCF.
Mr. Giroux regularly advises clients on privacy protection matters, invasion of privacy and injury to reputation. He also acts as leading counsel or legal adviser with respect to competition matters or offences under the laws governing competition.
For the past years, Mr. Giroux has been in charge of major litigation files and restructuring operations, including the restructuring of Groupe Les Ailes de la Mode, and more recently, Groupe Bikini Village Inc. He has also defended creditors’ rights before the Superior Court, the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada in the insolvency procedures concerning Inter-Canadien. Recently, he acted as amicus curiae before the Superior Court in the liquidation of the Norbourg and Évolution mutual funds.
He has pleaded before most Canadian courts, including the Supreme Court of Canada.
