Intellectual property in commercial transactions
February 1st, 2012Seminar date: April 17, 2012
Commercial transactions raise numerous questions, and intellectual property is no exception.
To avoid pre-closing headaches, it is important to consider the various issues before the transaction is completed, so as to avoid the usual pitfalls that can have serious consequences for the buyer, the seller, the financial institution, even the transaction itself!
From assignment of intellectual property rights to a web site, to open source software components developed by the seller’s programmers, to waiving of moral rights by the seller’s employees, our intellectual property experts will present a few tips and advice for negotiating and preparing the transaction during this dynamic, interactive, and, above all, practical seminar.
The seminar will be presented by BCF lawyers Pascal Lauzon, Marie-Josée Lapointe and Guy Rouleau, April 18 at our Montreal office and by videoconference at our Quebec city office. It will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. and a lunch will be served as of 12:00 p.m.
To register, please e-mail us at FormationBCF@bcf.ca or call 514 397-6699, ext. 3496. This seminar will give you 1½ hours of CLE credits accredited by the Barreau du Québec.
