The year 2012 will be an important one for owners of trade-marks and domain names. Between January 12 and April 12, 2012, ICANN, the entity in charge of domain names, will accept applications for the registration of the following new types of domain names: “generic” (such as .clothing), “geographical” (such as .mtl) and “trade-marks” (such as .bcf). These new domain name extensions will join the recently introduced .xxx extension and extensions in non-Latin alphabets.

The seminar will be presented by BCF trade-mark agent Johanne Auger and BCF lawyer Marie-Josée Lapointe on Thursday, February 29, 2012 at our Montreal office and March 28 at our Quebec city office. It will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. and a lunch will be served as of 12:00 p.m.
